Gun lockers or safes are specifically designed for the secure storage of guns and ammunition. They broadly resemble normal single-tier lockers, but tend to be slightly less high than normal single-tier lockers, and are often free-standing, and not banked together. They are fitted with internal racks designed for holding firearms. They have a shelf at the top like normal single-tier lockers, although in this case it is closed and locked by a separate door, because of legal requirements in some countries that firearms and ammunition be stored and locked separately. They always lock with three-point locking, which is in some countries a legal requirement for the storage of firearms. Sometimes they are made of the standard kind of sheet steel used in manufacturing normal lockers, and sometimes they are made of extremely thick heavy-duty steel and in this case resemble a safe more than a normal locker. In Australia there are strict regulations governing the storage of firearms following the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania, Australia on 28 April 1996, and cabinets used for storing firearms must be bolted to the floor or a wall if the cabinet is under a certain weight. Dedicated gun lockers are likely to include holes in the cabinet to accommodate such bolting. Several locker manufacturers also offer dedicated gun lockers.

Some schools in the United States have been reported to have abolished the use of lockers. Security concerns are cited as the reason for this, with the concern being that lockers may be used to store contraband items such as weapons or drugs or pornographic material.[1] There has been some controversy over in what circumstances school authorities or law-enforcement officials are permitted to search lockers, with or without informing the users, or with or without the users being present at the time of the search, and it has been considered a civil liberties issue, particularly in the U.S.

One thing that box lockers can’t do that nearly all other styles of lockers can (depending on their height) is hang garments. Box lockers allow for a maximum number of units in a small space, but are too small to hang your jacket. Garment lockers utilize box lockers, and a coat rod is mounted under the lockers between the vertical sections. This allows for employees to hang full length garments, while still being able to secure their other personal items in their individual lockers.

Bank size: It does not necessarily refer to the total number of compartments, but rather the number of compartments wide the entire cabinet is. So a bank of three may contain six lockers, for example, if they are two-tier lockers. In short, the total number of lockers is the bank size multiplied by the number of tiers. Sometimes the term "bay" is used instead of "bank", although "bank" appears to be the more standard term; on other occasions, "bay" refers to a single locker width within a bank, including all tiers of locker directly on top of each other.
I'm going to Denver for the first time in a few weeks. I'll be travelling lite with a backpack and smaller "purse" size bag. Is there a locker in downtown area where I can store the knapsack for a few hours while I walk around downtown. I know some cities have lockers at the greyhound or union station but I can't find that information anywhere on the web.

We are planning on exploring downtown Denver and then going to a Colorado Rockies game before heading back to the airport. We are only taking carry-ons bags to Costa Rica and I'm wondering where we can keep our luggage (specifically, I know at the baseball stadium it may be an issue as they will want to look through the bag and we will have food inside).

Perforated lockers are similar to the standard types of locker, but the door and walls are made largely or entirely of perforated steel, with hundreds of holes creating a strong mesh arranged in a diagonal pattern. This is used where good ventilation is required, or where, for security reasons, it is necessary that the contents can be examined visually while the doors are locked.

I am writing this review because the owner of Lugden, Mic, lost; "gave-away" my girlfriends suitcase when we were in Denver for a wedding the Sept. 15th, 2018 weekend.  I do NOT want anyone to deal with what we went through.  This seemed like a great idea to check our bags and walk around Denver for a few hours before having to catch the train to the airport, but after only checking our bag for an hour we went back by and my bag was sitting on the side of the van and her bag was completely gone! Again, out there for a wedding! She had shoes, jeweler, expensive purses and pictures of her and her deceased father that she takes everywhere with her to keep him close to her; but her bag was gone.  He had no system to track, had zero clue who he had given it and could not call any of the previous people that he had recently given their bags back to them.  He quickly ran off in side as I called to the police to get me his liability insurance policy and stated "Oh man I just remembered, her bag was really heavy right?  Some guy came by and said it was his bag and there were books in it so I let him take it."   WTF!!!!! How does someone take someone's checked bag and run off with it.  To make matters worse because we had a plane to catch I called his insurance company the following Monday and his "Insurance Representative" informed me that Lugged Inc has lapsed on their insurance and has zero liability coverage for instances like this.
